Why choose Residential gate?
A closure designed around your needs
The survey determines the opening width, the ground condition and civil works, the lateral runback (sliding) or swing area (swing), the leaf mass, the control points (keypad, intercom, remote) and the safety zones.
What makes this model different
- Sliding or swing depending on the threshold and clearance
- Aluminium, steel, PVC or wood — any RAL colour
- Somfy, Nice, CAME, BFT or FAAC motorisation
- Obstacle detection and closing safety (EN 12453)
- French fabrication, Paris-region workshop and Garantie 2 ans
This model is right for you if
Choose the gate to secure and enhance the entrance to the property: sliding when the passage must stay clear, swing when the pillars offer swing clearance.
- House and property entrances
- Courtyard or driveway accesses
- Fences with access control
- Renovation of an ageing gate
Consider another solution if
Compare the garage door (sectional or tilting) when the aim is to close the garage rather than the entrance to the property.
Security designed for its use
The gate falls under the CE / EN 13241 framework, with a powered-operation safety study (EN 12453) around the travel or swing. It controls access to the perimeter without claiming an anti-intrusion certification: the automatic locking limits opening attempts and reinforcements are matched to the configuration, with performance confirmed on a per-project study. EN 12453 is cited as the reference for safety in powered closing.

The visit validates the ground condition, the lateral runback or swing area, the control points and the safety zones before the quote.
Frequently asked questions about Residential gate
Sliding or swing gate — which one for my entrance?
The sliding gate suits when the passage must stay clear, with no swing in front of the entrance, including a cantilever version when the threshold does not allow a ground rail. The swing gate suits when the pillars offer clearance behind them. The survey confirms the architecture depending on the ground and available space.
Which material and infill should I choose?
Aluminium dominates for its corrosion-free durability; steel or wrought iron bring a robust, traditional look, PVC a controlled budget and wood a warm feel. The infill is chosen open-work, semi-open-work or solid depending on the privacy and light desired.
Which motorisation, and which brands?
The motorisation is selected according to the configuration from Somfy, Nice, CAME, BFT or FAAC. The leaf mass, opening width and traffic determine the exact model, confirmed after the survey.
Which closing-safety features are provided?
The motorised gate includes obstacle detection with automatic stop, photoelectric cells and a flashing light, within the EN 12453 standard for powered-operation safety. A backup battery is available as an option.
Can the gate be controlled remotely?
Yes. The gate is operated by remote control, keypad, intercom or video intercom, and by smartphone depending on the chosen installation.
Are masonry or civil works needed?
Depending on the architecture, pillar anchoring, ground preparation and lateral runback may require civil-works interfaces. The survey validates this work before the quote.
Is the gate made to measure and installed in Île-de-France?
Yes. Every gate is made to measure, with French fabrication and preparation in our Paris-region workshop, then installed and commissioned by the Shasama Fermetures teams across Île-de-France.
What determines the price, lead time and warranty?
The architecture, the width and leaf mass, the material and infill, the finish, the motorisation, the controls, the safety devices and the civil works determine the quote and lead time. Installation is covered by Garantie 2 ans.
