Why choose Residential sectional door?
A closure designed around your needs
The on-site survey sets the opening dimensions, the lintel and ceiling headroom, the panel thickness and finish, the motorisation and controls as well as the safety devices before the quote is prepared.
What makes this model different
- Vertical opening — zero outward protrusion
- Insulated double-skin panels, polyurethane core
- Anti-pinch, spring and cable safety catches
- Somfy (or compatible) motorisation
- French fabrication, Paris-region workshop and Garantie 2 ans
This model is right for you if
Choose the sectional door to save space, park as close as possible and insulate an attached garage when the ceiling offers the required headroom.
- Detached-house garages
- Attached or heated garages
- Renovations with clear ceiling space
- Seeking insulation and comfort
Consider another solution if
Compare the tilting door for a tighter budget with a garage that has outdoor clearance, or the gate for the entrance to the property.
Security designed for its use
Compliance separates the rigid closure in front of the garage opening from the safety of a motorised cycle. The door is not presented as a certified burglar-resistant closure: locking and reinforcements are matched to the configuration, with performance confirmed on a per-project study.

Frequently asked questions about Residential sectional door
Sectional or tilting door — which one for my garage?
The sectional door opens vertically without protruding and insulates the garage better, which suits attached or heated garages and those lacking outdoor clearance. The tilting door stays more economical when the garage has clearance in front of the door. The survey confirms the right solution.
What panel thickness and insulation should I plan for?
The double-skin panels with a polyurethane core stay within a band of about 40 mm, up to ~45 mm depending on the range. Insulation is enhanced by the PU core; the thermal coefficient depends on the chosen thickness and the configuration, specified in the quote.
Do I need ceiling clearance for a sectional door?
Yes. The panels fold under the ceiling, which requires sufficient headroom. The survey checks the lintel and available height to select the right installation.
Which finishes and colours are possible?
The door comes in smooth, micro-ribbed, grooved or cassette finishes, with a wood-effect laminate option, windows and an integrated wicket door. Powder coating is available in any RAL colour to match the facade.
Can it be motorised, and with which brand?
Yes. The door can stay manual or receive a Somfy (or compatible) motorisation, with a chain or a quieter belt drive. The exact model is confirmed after the survey according to the dimensions and use.
Which anti-pinch and anti-fall safety features are provided?
The curtain includes anti-pinch joints and spring- and cable-break safety catches. With motorisation, photoelectric cells and an obstacle stop complete the operating safety.
Is the door made to measure and installed in Île-de-France?
Yes. Every door is made to measure, with French fabrication and preparation in our Paris-region workshop, then installed and commissioned by the Shasama Fermetures teams across Île-de-France.
What determines the price, lead time and warranty?
The dimensions, the panel thickness and finish, the motorisation, the options and site access determine the quote and lead time. Installation is covered by Garantie 2 ans.
